HYBRID YOUTH MEETINGS

I love witnessing the creativity by the wards in the stake when it comes to figuring out a ways to get the youth to connect during the pandemic. There have been so many great things going on that it is hard to report on all of them. One ward youth council really wanted to meet together, but also saw the importance of following the stake youth activity guidelines. So, they reviewed the situation with families and youth and came up with a very interesting and creative solution.
Here is the solution they came up with:
1) The Young Men and Young Women take turns meeting at the building each week.
2) During the week that the YM or YW aren’t at the building, they are doing their activity virtually.
3) During the week that the YM or YW are meeting at the building, if they are over 10, they meet in shifts at the building. For example, their YM are over 10 people, so two adult leaders and half of the YM meet at 6:30-7:30PM. The second half of the YM and two different adults meet from 7:30-8:30PM.
This format isn’t going to work for every ward. The circumstances in each ward are different. The purpose of sharing this is to help you understand what is working in other wards. Hopefully the sharing might be able to help with your planning. Thanks again for your wonderful diligence in serving the youth of our stake. As a parent and leader, I am eternally grateful for it.
