President Nelson has asked that all church gatherings be suspended in an effort to contain the spreading of COVID-19. I believe this will be a true test of faith by staying faithful to the Lord’s church when we cannot physically gather together. Today, we are blessed with many resources to help make our gospel experience more engaging, such as Come, Follow Me and the Gospel Library app. It may be weeks, or even months before we can gather together again, the prophet has asked us to make an effort to stay unified and exercise faith while slowing the spread of COVID-19.

One way you can stay unified is an online video call with your young men or young women class. As many of you know, all schools in our state have been closed in hopes to contain the Coronavirus. Some people’s parents work all day which leaves them alone at home by themselves. As you can imagine this can be lonely so a phone call could be just the thing to cheer someone up. There are many activities you can do over a call, from helping each other with schoolwork to playing a game such as Never Have I Ever. Never Have I Ever is a game in which everyone holds up five to ten fingers. ( however many lives you want to have ) Players then take turns naming something they have never done or experienced such as; “ Never have I ever been stung by a bee.” Anyone who is playing that has been stung by a bee before would then put one of their fingers down. The last player to still have any of their lives left would win the game.  Playing this game could help someone feel cared for and help your youth group learn more about one another.

I know that if throughout the next few weeks you make an effort to reach out to the youth you will become more unified with one another and feel the saviors love. I hope that you will all stay safe and healthy and stay strong in your testimony, throughout this trial of faith.
