Work of Salvation

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit one of the Priest quorum meetings in our Stake. It was great to see them spend a few minutes at the opening of the meeting discussing needs. The Bishop started the discussion, but the assistants quickly took over. They discussed members of the quorum that they hadn’t seen in a while and then discussed who in the quorum knew them the best and how they would reach out to them. One particular assistant mentioned that the person didn’t answer their phone very often, but did respond very quickly to text messaging. Assignments were made and accepted. Next, they asked for followup on the assignments at their previous meeting. The secretary had taken notes and had sent a reminder during the week. The Priest that had been assigned to contact someone was able to report on it and to mention that he was picking the young man up for their weekly activity.

This didn’t take long, but it helped the young men stay focused on the work of salvation in their quorum. It was great to see the Priest Quorum catching this vision.
